Beyonce, Rihanna Hitmakers Stargate Sign JV Deal With Pulse Music – Billboard

Pulse Music Group has announced a new creative joint venture with Stargate, the hitmaking duo comprised of Mikkel Eriksen and Tor E. Hermansen. The JV is an extension of Eriksen and Hermansen’s Los Angeles Academy for Artists and Music Production (LAAMP), a program designed to link up-and-coming producers, writers and artists with mentors like Emily Warren, Benny Blanco, Justin Tranter, Diplo, Ne-Yo and more.

Called LAAMP Music, the JV is led by former Hallwood Media senior vp Andy Steinway and counts program participants Natalię Sawicki, Kyla McMillian, Hunter Nay and Lucas Goncalves as its first signees.

“Investing in the future has long been a winning recipe in music,” said Hermansen. “LAAMP was created to help young creators take their music to the next level, which is exactly what PULSE Music Group has been doing for their songwriters for years. Andy, Mikkel and I are excited to partner with Scott, Josh, Ashley and the whole PULSE Music Group team to create opportunities for a whole new wave of talent.”

Stargate got their big break as co-writers on “So Sick” by Ne-Yo and since that first No. 1, they have written and produced for many of the biggest recording artists in the world, including Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Sam Smith, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Pink, Sia, Whitney Houston, Chris Brown and Nas. Their discography includes No. 1 songs like “Firework” by Katy Perry and “Irreplaceable” by Beyonce as well as Rihanna’s “Rude Boy”, “Only Girl (In the World)”, “What’s My Name?”, “S&M” and “Diamonds.”

“We couldn’t be happier to be in business with Stargate and to form the LAAMP Music creative joint venture,” said Josh Abraham, Scott Cutler and Ashley Calhoun of Pulse in a joint statement. “People come to work with PULSE Music Group when they want a high level of creative community to surround themselves with — exactly the same ethos and purpose of creative culture that Tor, Mikkel and Andy have with LAAMP. It makes perfect sense to team up with Stargate to help light the torches of a whole new wave of talent.”
