James Gunn and Chris Pratt get R-rated over Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Life-like Star-Lord Doll

James Gunn kept a life-size body double dummy of Chris Pratt in his office. This is weird enough, but when the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director tried to explain a little more about why he has the doll during an interview with IGN, Chris Pratt’s reaction turned the whole thing into something that was certainly more R-rated that anyone expected.

The conversation revolved about the 35-pound “fake Pratt” that was used during filming an early scene in the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which Gunn explained he ha in his office to scare people away. He innocently said of the dummy:

“I had it in my office for a long time and people would come in and scream.”

While the explanation could have ended right there, Pratt wasn’t in the mood to let the moment for a bit of crude humor pass, and with a shocked expression exclaimed, “They would what in it and scream? I was like, ‘How many people did you let come in it and scream?’”

Although Gunn took a moment to register exactly what had been said, when the realization dawned it brought a bout of laughter from both of them. Of course, once you fall into this kind of innuendo-laced territory, it is hard to easily slip back out and that led to the pair continuing on in their NSFW banter.

Gunn: “I let everybody have a crack at old plastic Quill.”Pratt: “You’re like, ‘It’s really important that it looks exactly like Chris, and he’s asleep with his mouth open.”

The back and forth between the pair is very much in line with the kind of humor that has littered the Guardians movies, and it is not hard to see why the cast and director get on so well both on and off-screen.

James Gunn’s Humor Saw Sylvester Stallone Refusing To Say One of His Lines.

Marvel Studios

Sylvester Stallone returns for another Marvel cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but it was reported last week that there was one line that James Gunn tried to get him to say that he just didn’t want to have any part of. As Chris Pratt recalled:

“Yep. [It was] ‘I gotta go take a sh*t.’ And he goes, ‘I’m not going to say that, no. What? I gotta go take a sh*t?’ And you were like, ‘You just said it!’”Gunn: “(Laughing) I just wanted Sly to say, ‘I’m gonna go take a sh*t!’”

One thing that is for certain is that the Guardians of the Galaxy movies have never seemed to be too serious or a chore to be part of, and that is mainly down to the mutual respect between everyone involved. Now that Gunn is moving off to begin his DCU adventure, it will probably not be too long before some of the Guardians stars find their way into some of his upcoming movies and TV shows. When and where exactly those reunions take place is something that will soon be revealed as casting news about the new DCU slate are announced.
