The Issue: President Biden saying “no comment” when asked about the deadly wildfire in Maui.
Kristen Fleming posed the question: What kind of a human doesn’t have a simple sympathetic sentiment to share about the devastation in Maui (“Maui Revelation,” PostOpinion, Aug. 15)?
My answer is simple: a person who has become a callous, robotic shell.
President Biden has spent his career showcasing this arrogant behavior. He is by far the biggest embarrassment in leadership I have witnessed in my lifetime.
Our country needs to assess its choices when it comes to electing officials to represent us here and throughout the world.
Prioritize people. Our people are suffering in Maui. They need leadership. Pray very hard for them and for our country as a whole.

When will people finally realize that this is who Biden is?
Does anyone out there really think he wrote that statement on the X site about the fire and his prayers?
This presidency was the biggest con pulled on the American people. Really sad.

The phrase “get in line” comes to mind when you read about the number of Democratic officials whose requests or pleas to Biden are being ignored.
Nobody should be shocked by how Biden and this administration has responded to any crisis.
Regardless of whether it is from his inept policies or natural causes, Biden has demonstrated enough times that the public officials who campaigned for and defended him have no reward coming.
Currently, the congresswoman from Hawaii probably feels like she was kicked in the stomach because of the way Biden has failed to prioritize the Maui crisis.
At this point, the Democratic leaders who were tricked into thinking he was the right choice in 2020 had better look at his reactions and refusal to help (and maybe reconsider supporting him in the 2024 election).
If he will not stand by you now, what makes you think he will change in the future?

I have no problem with a sitting president enjoying some rest and relaxation away from the job, as Biden did over the weekend in Delaware.
However, the timing and aesthetics show complete disregard for the situation over in Maui.
What type of leader turns a blind eye to a deadly wildfire of epic proportions that has taken so many American lives and leaves so many suffering?
Biden’s time has indeed come. The great people of Hawaii should not be surprised by his lack of empathy. His insensitivity does not reflect those of us who care about what’s happening in Maui.

Is anyone really shocked by the “no comment” comment from Biden when reporters asked for his thoughts on the destruction taking place in Maui (“Heartless Joe,” Aug. 15)?
How dare the tragedy taking place in Hawaii interfere with his beach time, huh? He was relaxing on the sandy shore and daydreaming about the great job he has done for America since coming into office.
What empathy? The horror in Maui could wait in the background until his vacation ended.
One can only imagine how the media would have responded had then-President Donald Trump been vacationing and golfing down at Mar-a-Lago while Hawaii was burning up.

Calling Biden “heartless” in The Post headline is unfair.
Biden’s response of “no comment” to the fire disaster in Hawaii makes perfect sense: In my opinion, Biden does not know what happened in Hawaii.

Joe cares about two things: being president, which he is, and being very rich, which he also is. And that is it.
Instead of “no comment,” he could have said “My heart goes out to them” or “Stay strong. Help on the way.” His true colors are coming out.
