How to do the Phone Air Trick in Spider-Man Miles Morales

In Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, you will be able to do the phone trick just like Miles does it in Into the Spider-Verse. The trick is more of a statement of style where Miles is busy playing or checking notifications on his smartphone while web-swinging through New York City. Not only does it look cool, but Miles executes this trick with the same panache as the movie.

You can find and use a move list of the various air tricks in Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ main menu.

This Spider-Man movie easter egg is not available in the official move list, but it can be performed if you know the right button combinations. In total, Miles can perform five different tricks, including the phone trick, where he plays with the phone and then puts both his hands behind his head in a relaxed fashion. If you need another look at how it ends up looking, here’s a scene from TopMovieClips on YouTube below:

How To Set Up Miles Morales’ Phone Trick

To set up the phone trick in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, you need to make sure Miles is facing you. The first way to do this is to ensure Miles approaches a ledge on a very tall building. In fact, performing this trick from a high building increases your chances of pulling off the phone trick. While running towards the ledge, make sure to hold R2/RT so that Miles leaps off the ledge while facing you. This will set up Miles to perform the phone trick, after which you need to perform a button combination.

The other way to set up Miles for the phone trick is during web-slinging. Once Miles has enough momentum, you will need him to reach the highest point of the swing or wait till the last moment. Once Miles reaches the highest point of full swing, press X/A to jump up and turn Miles towards the screen.

How To Perform Miles Morales’ Phone Trick

If Miles Morales is already facing you, you can initiate the Phone trick by pressing the L3/LS analog sticks, making Miles dive. Once Miles is in the diving animation, hold the Square/X (Xbox) button and flick the left analog stick downwards. This will enable Miles to mimic himself in Into the Spider-Verse as he plays with his phone while diving into the air. Check out the YouTube video above from OniZombies to see Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ phone trick in action!

You can switch poses while swinging. If you chain a few poses together, you will earn a small amount of XP that can be used to unlock a skill or gadget.
