Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s Best and Worst Moments

Brittany Cartwright first appeared alongside Jax Taylor in Vanderpump Rules Season 4. When her Southern accent first sounded, I yelled at my screen for her to run back to Kentucky. “Jax isn’t safe,” I screamed, eliciting glares from my startled Ragdoll cats, Frick and Frack. Unlike my fur babies, Brittany didn’t hear me, because now, almost 10 years later, she’s finally seeing the full picture, and seems to be walking away.

Or is she? Either way, their relationship has seen many lows, with a few highs randomly sprinkled here and there. Currently, the Cauchi’s are on the rocks. Zero surprises felt on this one. Even still, let’s take a look back. Here are some of Jax and Brittany’s best – and worst – moments as a couple.

Their Rocky Beginning

After filming wrapped on VPR Season 3, Jax headed to Las Vegas. This is where he met his little Kentucky muffin, as both were living it up at Gold Spike Lounge. After getting Brit Brit’s number, the two began talking. Wildly, Jax then managed to convince Brittany to move to Los Angeles, leaving Kentucky, Hooters, and her modeling career in the rear view mirror.

When Brittany said hello to CA living though, she was immediately met with problems from her new beau. In Season 4, we all watched Jax lie about hitting on Lala Kent. At a bar, Jax told Lala that he was “going to f*ck” her. Unwilling to believe that her man was lying, even after Lala approached their table to chat about it, an exasperated Lala walked away, letting Brittany know that her man was the literal worst.

In addition, Jax wasn’t eager to live with Brittany. Likewise, time after time, he seemed to be trying to get Brittany to dump him. He even told her that she deserved better, but still Brittany remained. Then, for whatever reason, these two got their own spinoff on Bravo.

The Kentucky Spinoff

I guess I can understand the original allure behind the premise of Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky. It would be like The Simple Life, or even the spinoff that came after, Welcome to Crappie Lake. Watching a city slicker take on farm life for sure has its appeals, but with Jax involved, everything just hit differently.

First, Jax made horrific comments about single mothers, while also asking Brittany’s sister what it was like to “have a child out of wedlock.” Then, he bragged about paying for Brittany’s brother and sister-in-law’s IVF Treatment, yelling at those in attendance at their fundraiser to stop donating money, as he had it covered.

Following this, he caused a nasty scene at a local bar, after one of Brittany’s exes engaged her in a brief conversation. Finally, Jax had multiple one-on-one talks with Brittany’s family members and friends, telling them all that Brittany slept too late, was gaining weight and that “she’d lost her spark.”

Needless to say, only one season of this spin-off aired. Also needless to say, Brittany remained by his side, and the two went back to CA. For those keeping score, zero highs have yet to be seen from this pairing.

“Remember when Jax f-ed Faith?”

If the headline of this section made you immediately start rapping DJ James Kennedy’s diss track about Jax and Faith Stowers, then we’d likely be great friends. To explain, in Season 6, Jax cheated on Brittany with Faith.

Coming in for her first high, Brittany finally ended things with her man. However, their time apart didn’t last, as Brittany took her forever “changed man” back, much to the dismay of literally everyone, everywhere.

The Proposal

By the time Season 7 rolled around, Jax and Brittany were back together. Also in this same time frame, Jax sadly lost his father to cancer. Over on X, formally known as Twitter, Jax wrote “My heart is broken, I lost my best friend and the best man I have ever met last night, I love you so much dad I can’t even breathe anymore, only person not letting me fall right now is my amazing girlfriend. I love you dad.”

In his will, his father left Jax a hefty sum, which Jax then used on a massive engagement ring for Brittany. On Watch What Happens Live, Brittany also explained that Jax’s dad had loved Neptune’s Net, the site of Jax’s proposal. This was also the location of their first date.

When Jax was down, Brittany was in his corner. Also, watching Jax honor his father throughout his proposal to Brittany, a woman that Jax’s dad had loved for his son, was very sweet. Overall, we’d consider the time surrounding Jax’s proposal a high for these two.

The Valley and The Breakup

In Season 8, Jax and Brittany finally tied the knot in her home state of Kentucky. Afterwards, they disappeared into the smoggy LA sunset, following allegedly racist comments and behaviors that saw multiple cast members being axed. Now, several years later, the two have just wrapped filming for their new VPR spinoff, The Valley.

For years, Jax and Brittany had been living in a modern farmhouse with their little boy Cruz. Yet, after filming ceased for their spinoff, Brittany moved out. Brittany revealed “I’ve asked [Jax] for a while to do certain things, and nothing has come from that yet.” All we can do now is wait and see what goes down on The Valley.

TELL US – WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE JAX AND BRITTANY’S BEST AND WORST MOMENTS? DO THEY STILL HAVE A FUTURE AS A COUPLE?
