Vin Diesel Update Teases “Exciting” Fast & Furious 11 is “Not Just an Ending”

Summary

  • Vin Diesel promises that
    Fast X
sequel will be a celebration of the franchise and a big finale for fans worldwide.
  • The
    Fast & Furious
saga is set to have a grand ending, acknowledging fan commitment and global impact over the years.
  • Although
    Fast & Furious 11
will be the last drive for the main cast, spin-offs like
    Hobbs & Reyes
    are already in the works.

Although Fast X did not exactly deliver the kind of box office Universal hoped for in 2023, Vin Diesel is ready to make one more run as Dom Toretto and make it count. Although news about the supposed final movie in the main Fast & Furious saga has been scarce, Diesel has shared an update with fans via his Instagram account, promising that the Fast X follow-up will be as much a celebration of the franchise as a concluding chapter.

According to Diesel, this conclusion is poised to be a monumental celebration, a homage to the “incredible family” built not just on screen, but also among the global fan base and the team behind the scenes. In his post, Diesel wrote:

“Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting…

While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey. Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.

Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen. This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together. Hope to make you proud!”

There have been many rumors and much speculation around what the final entry in the Fast & Furious franchise will look like. One thing that is now clear from Diesel’s comments, is that the upcoming movie will act as the last drive for the main cast, and will tie up the loose ends that have been left hanging. With the previous movies having a knack for bringing back surprising characters, even those believed to be dead, and introducing new villains along the way, there is a lot of scope for how the finale of the franchise will come to an end.

Jason Momoa Gives Disappointing Update on Fast & Furious 11

The Fast & Furious franchise is moving rather slowly as it approaches its end, and Jason Momoa’s update alludes to that.

However, among the movie’s blockbuster action sequences and sad farewells, there will also be just a hint of more to come, as while the main franchise is coming to an end, spin-offs are already in the air. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Reyes, a spin-off spotlighting Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs and Fast X‘s villain, Dante Reyes, has already been announced, and is expected to enter production in the near future. Alongside that, several other possible future spin-offs have been discussed, including a female-centric addition to the saga. Of course, other spin-offs could well be kept in park until it is clear that the films are not chancing a dud. If two upcoming Fast & Furious movies fail to make the grade, then it is unlikely that the green light will be shining on other new movies.

Fast X
is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
