Jurassic World 4 Must Overcome 1 Challenge That’s Baked Into Its Premise

Summary

  • Jurassic World 4 needs to find a new fierce predator to replace T. Rex, a challenge crucial for its success.
  • The film must recapture the original’s sense of wonder with novel dinosaur integration to overcome its premise.
  • Introducing a new incredible creature or exploring cohabitation issues can help Jurassic World 4 address its challenges.

In order to succeed, Jurassic World 4 will have to overcome one challenge, which is incredibly difficult considering that it is baked into the film’s premise. Although the original Jurassic Park was a massive critical and commercial success, many viewers have taken issue with nearly every Jurassic Park and Jurassic World sequel, with none of them living up to Steven Spielberg’s original. Jurassic World 4 is another chance for the franchise to find success, but it’ll have to address one problem first.

Jurassic World 4 is officially happening, with the highly anticipated continuation of the beloved Steven Spielberg dinosaur franchise now in development. Jurassic World Dominion was the purported conclusion of the Jurassic World saga, which has raised a lot of questions about the recent sequel’s announcement. Although nothing has been officially announced, it is speculated that Jurassic World 4 will focus on new characters while building upon the same world, meaning that one franchise flaw will continue into the sequel.

Jurassic World 4 will introduce plenty of new dinosaurs, and the most important challenge will be finding a fierce predator to replace T. Rex.

Jurassic World 4 Must Make Dinosaurs Feel Novel Again (But Its Premise Goes Against That)

In order to succeed, Jurassic World 4 needs to make dinosaurs feel novel again, with this being the biggest hurdle that the sequel needs to overcome. The sight of dinosaurs in the original Jurassic Park felt magical, with the cinematography, editing, music, and groundbreaking visual effects creating a sense of awe when the prehistoric creatures are first seen. This is the true element of Jurassic Park that makes the original so incredible, something that the later films haven’t been able to recapture.

Sadly, the premise of Jurassic World 4 goes completely against this novelty. Due to the events of the previous Jurassic World movies, dinosaurs have invaded the rest of the world, with them being an everyday occurrence. This means that the sight of dinosaurs isn’t all that exciting in the universe of Jurassic World 4, with the sequel losing the magic that the original film was able to capture.

One of the biggest aspects of the Jurassic Park franchise has been missing for a few movies, and Jurassic World 4 needs to solve this mystery.

How The New Jurassic World Movie Can Overcome Its Dinosaur Challenge

Chris Pratt's Owen rides past two roaming T-rexs in a Malta plaza in Jurassic Park Dominion

Although it will be difficult, there are a few ways that Jurassic World 4 can overcome its dinosaur challenge. Firstly, the element of wonder can come from seeing how dinosaurs have been integrated into everyday life. The film can also show off the problems that have come from dinosaur cohabitation, with this greater focus on dinosaurs being something that Jurassic World Dominion severely needed.

It could also be that Jurassic World 4 finds a new type of incredible creature, recapturing the magic of the original film with something behind dinosaurs. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom introduced human clones, meaning that pretty much any species can be bioengineered. This means that there is all kinds of potential for Jurassic World 4 to introduce something truly novel, hopefully addressing the problem with the film’s premise.

Jurassic World: Dominion

Four years after Isla Nublar was destroyed in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World: Dominion concludes the Jurassic World trilogy. Dinosaurs once again walk the earth, now alongside humans, and Claire Dearing and Owen Grady live in isolation protecting the granddaughter of Sir Benjamin Lockwood, the former partner of John Hammond, the two who started the events that kicked off Jurassic Park. However, when Blue, the trained Velociraptor from Jurassic World, shows up at their cabin with its newborn, Owen and Claire soon discover that the Biosyn Corporation is pursuing the dinosaurs. The two will have to join other series regulars to uncover the truth of Biosyn’s ulterior motives.
